Welcome to the Year of the Dragon, or more precisely the Year of the Wood Dragon. Officially beginning on 10 February 2024 and ending on 28 January 2025, the annual zodiac signs in Japan are determined according to the Chinese calendar, which is based on the lunar cycle. The Dragon cycle takes place every 12 years. One of the four elements is always assigned to the sign of the zodiac; this year it is wood. This combination is repeated every 60 years.
