Anyone who was unable to attend Jochen Maier Sensei’s course has, unfortunately, missed the opportunity to discover further aspects and subtleties of Aikido that Jochen learnt from his teachers, Tamura Sensei and Yamada Sensei.
Our special congratulations also go to Karl’s ukes (training and sparring partners during the examination) and to all the members of our dojo – the kohai (younger or less experienced practitioners) and the sempai (advanced or experienced practitioners) alike – who have accompanied, challenged and supported Karl on his Aikido journey over many years. His success is also the result of countless joint training sessions, mutual exchange and the support of many fellow practitioners.
We join Karl in celebrating this important milestone on his Aikido journey and wish him continued joy, inspiration and success in his training. May he continue on his path with the same perseverance, humility and enthusiasm that have characterised him to this day.
