🌊🌊 "Flow in Aikido: Discover your optimal performance! 🥋🥋
Have you ever heard of 'flow'? It's that brilliant state where you feel at your best and perform at your best. It's as if you're in a frenzy, totally focussed on the here and now, where you're so absorbed in your task that everything else disappears. Your actions and your perception merge, you forget about time and everything runs by itself. Sounds cool, doesn't it?
The term 'flow' comes from the psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi. He discovered that this state is the optimal state of consciousness. And you know what? You can achieve this state in Aikido!
In our beginners' training, you will not only learn the basics of aikido, but also how to get into the flow. Our experienced instructors will help you to experience the 10 core characteristics of flow: from the fusion of action and consciousness to the disappearance of the self and timeless perception.
And the best thing? You don't have to be an expert to join in! Whether you already have experience with martial arts or not, you'll find your flow with us.
"Flow in Aikido: Discover the magic of being one with the movement!
1. merging action and consciousness: During Aikido training, your actions merge with your consciousness. You become one with the movement so that your actions appear automatic and without additional effort.
2. selflessness: Your sense of self disappears during the training. You become free of self-consciousness and the inner critic falls silent.
3. timelessness: time takes on a new meaning. Past and future disappear and you immerse yourself in a timeless now, in which only the present counts.
4. ease: the struggle and effort disappear. The experience becomes intrinsically rewarding as you love the activity for itself and not for external rewards.
5 Paradox of control: You have a strong control over the situation. You run your own ship and are the master of your destiny, even if you are in a small section of it.
6 Intrinsic motivation: The training is motivating from within. You do it for the love of exercise and not for external rewards.
7. intense concentration: You concentrate intensely on a limited field of information. Your entire attention is in the here and now, you are completely absorbed in the present moment.
8. challenge/skill balance: The challenge of training is slightly beyond your current skill level, so you need to push yourself outside your comfort zone, but not too far. You need to stretch but not break.
9. clear goals: Goals are clearly defined, even if they're not big. It's about knowing what to do next so that your attention can stay in the moment.
10. immediate feedback: the gap between cause and effect is minimal. You can make corrections and adjust your course at any time during training.
