Ju-Jutsu - "The modern, open self-defence system"
German Ju-Jutsu is a modern, versatile self-defence system both for real-life situations and as a classical martial art.
Ju-Jutsu is mainly based on self-defence techniques. Each defence technique can be used against several types of attack.
The techniques can also be combined and used in real self-defence against an attack.
Even a small range of defence techniques can be used for effective self-defense from the outset thanks to the flexibility of their application.
Ju-Jutsu is a style that is suitable for everyone, whether small or large, young or old.
Everyone can specialise in those techniques most suitable for them.

The belt examinations are held in accordance with the standards of the German Ju-Jutsu Association and are therefore recognised and valid throughout Germany.
The examination programme can be downloaded
The martial art of Ju-Jutsu offers a wide range of defence and attack techniques. The most effective defence techniques from the various budo areas are used here.
- Punch, kick and block techniques from boxing, kickboxing and karate
- Lever techniques from Aikido
- Throws from judo and sambo
- Ground fighting from the Brazilian Ju-Jutsu, Judo and wrestling disciplines
A Ju-Jutsuka is therefore able to deal with any type of attack through persistent training.
1.2 Drop school
In order to avoid injuries during training or in an emergency situation, special attention is paid to the falling school, which originates from Judo and Aikido. Intensive training is used to practise correct falling, in the sense of rolling or striking off.
1.3 Weapon defence
One focus of the training will be defence against attacks with standardised weapons such as knives or sticks. These techniques are related to Kali, Arnis or Eskrima.
1.4 Pratzentraining
Intensive training on and with claw pads offers the opportunity to practise punching and kicking techniques, as well as punch-kick combinations, without being confronted with a counter-reaction from your training partner. The claw holder can also use targeted attacks to encourage his opponent to perform evasive manoeuvres and/or counterattacks. Speed and accuracy are also learnt.
1.5 Fitness
To avoid injuries, it is absolutely essential to prepare your body for the actual Ju-Jutsu training by warming up and stretching. Individual muscle groups are trained according to the latest sporting aspects and your own stamina and fitness are improved.

Location
Auditorium of the
Julius Springer School
Elsa-Brandström-Strasse 8
69126 Heidelberg
We offer anyone interested the opportunity to try out 2-3 training sessions to see if they like the unit and the trainers.
For training we recommend long sports trousers and a T-shirt, plus a towel and something to drink (non-carbonated). As we train barefoot, please keep your feet clean and your toenails and fingernails short. Please change your shoes for flip-flops in the changing room or take them off in front of the training room and put them on the heater, enter with socks or flip-flops. Please remove jewellery beforehand.
Children and young people
The demand for our children's sessions is currently so high. Depending on their age, interested parties must register in an appropriate Waiting list(course) register. The courses have an entry date on which we then integrate the newcomers. There is generally no children's/youth training during the school holidays.
Adults
The trial training takes place on Monday, 18:30 - 20:00, where you will be taught all the basics. Advanced and undecided participants are welcome to contact the head of department at Ju-Jutsu turn.
If there are problems finding the hall:
We are in a large building at Elsa-Brandström-Straße 8. When you stand in front of the sports field, the skating rink is at the back on the right and a 2-storey building with 3 glass doors on the left, of which only the one with the electronic lock opens inwards. Straight ahead through 2 more glass doors is the changing room, upstairs to the training centre.
