One exam follows another: after two Kyu exams in April, there was another exam in July in the Aikido department. Manuela K. and Marc K. successfully obtained their 5th kyu just a few months after joining the Aikido department - we are delighted for them! Both were part of the first group to practise rolling and learn techniques in weekly beginners' training sessions after moving into the Südstadt dojo. Sylke H. has now also acquired the same grade.
The rapid progress of the entire group is a well-deserved success for the dedicated coaches Rick Soriano, Karl Kiening and Holger Breithaupt. We would also like to say a big thank you to all the other advanced students who looked after the newcomers. It's always great to see how much patience and enthusiasm is shown in passing on your own experience to beginners. The targeted exam training on Monday evenings, led by Alejandro Gvirtz, was also particularly beneficial.
The next beginners' course starts again after the summer holidays on Thursdays from 19:00. New beginners, those returning or those interested are welcome to come and see for themselves. Incidentally, none of the newly graduated Aikidoka were under 40 when they took up the sport. This is certainly good proof that Aikido knows no age limits!
