Action in the PSV Südstadt dojo with the 6th Dan (Aikikai) from Luxembourg
On 4 and 5 November we had the pleasure of Jisch Scheuren from Luxembourg with some of his students from Kopstal-Bridel to a workshop in the dojo. In two sessions on Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning, we got down to business. The basic idea was to use numerous different holds and throws from the same entrance.

The successful cooperation between uke and nage to practise the different techniques was (once again) the centre of attention. The sequence of technique, counter-technique and counter-counter-technique almost turned the sequences into choreography! In addition, there was suddenly a hint of competition in the air: I'll get you! Or not?
Although the variety of techniques offered more of a programme for advanced students, there was also plenty to learn for the beginners present. The friendly, informal atmosphere provided the perfect setting for this, and the guests from Luxembourg also felt visibly welcome.
The highlight on the side: Sensei's extremely patient dog, who took a nap completely unmoved by people falling around. Many thanks to Jisch Scheuren for the exciting two days, to Holger Breithaupt for the organisation and to Johannes and Manuela for their support!
The Heidelberg Aikidoka are cordially invited to make a return visit to Luxembourg, and we hope to be able to welcome our new sporting friends here again next year. Here you can read another detailed reportwhich will be held in January 2024 in Aikido Journal will appear.
